FCA Authorisation

FCA authorisation is the regulatory permission required for any UK firm to offer or broker secured loans. Authorised firms appear on the FCA Register with a unique Firm Reference Number (FRN).

The Financial Conduct Authority regulates all UK consumer credit and mortgage activity. Secured loan brokers and lenders must be FCA-authorised to offer the product — and must comply with detailed rules around suitability, affordability, transparency, and customer treatment.

Always verify a firm's FCA status before applying. The free FCA Register at register.fca.org.uk shows authorisation status, the activities permitted, and any regulatory action against the firm. Unauthorised firms have no consumer protections, no Ombudsman access, and no compensation scheme cover.

Charles Frank Finance Ltd (trading as Secured Loan Rates) is FCA-authorised under firm reference number 624668.
